Shrimp In Beer

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 lbs shrimp, raw & peeled.
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cups beer, canadian lager recomended.
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • salt & pepper

Recipe

  • 1 bring beer& bay leaf to a boil.
  • 2 add shrimp cook 5-6 minutes,or till pink.
  • 3 pick out& set shrimp aside.
  • 4 clean scum-- if any-- off of the beer.
  • 5 boil till beer is reduced to 1 c.
  • 6 in large skillet melt butter, add flour, and mix into uniform paste.
  • 7 add reduced beer, cook& whisk untill thick.
  • 8 add cream, cayenne pepper, salt& pepper and parsley.
  • 9 return shrimp to pan and heat through serve over crusty french bread.
  • 10 makes lots of yummy sauce.
