Shrimp And Rice Au Gratin

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 lb american cheese, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 dash paprika
  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs, the soft kind (panko)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 melt butter in a saucepan; add flour, blending well.
  • 3 add milk gradually and cook until thickened.
  • 4 add half of cheese and seasoning; cook until cheese is melted, stirring constantly.
  • 5 clean the shrimp and break them in half.
  • 6 mix with rice and sauce.
  • 7 place in buttered baking dish, sprinkle with crumbs and cover with remaining cheese.
  • 8 bake for 15 minutes or until crumbs are browned and cheese is melted.
