Ragin Cajun Shrimp

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 4 lbs shrimp, peeled
  • 1 cup corn oil
  • 1/2 cup green onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • bamboo skewer

Recipe

  • 1 combine shrimp with all of the above ingredients in a large bowl.
  • 2 stir to coat shrimp.
  • 3 refrigerate covered for two hours, stir occasionally.
  • 4 soak bamboo skewers in ice water for 2 hours to prevent their burning.
  • 5 preheat grill.
  • 6 drain shrimp, reserving marinade.
  • 7 thread shrimp on skewers.
  • 8 grill just until shrimp turn pink, basting with marinade.
  • 9 serve immediately.
