Ragin Cajun Shrimp

Ingredients

- 4 lbs shrimp, peeled
- 1 cup corn oil
- 1/2 cup green onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- bamboo skewer
Recipe
- 1 combine shrimp with all of the above ingredients in a large bowl.
- 2 stir to coat shrimp.
- 3 refrigerate covered for two hours, stir occasionally.
- 4 soak bamboo skewers in ice water for 2 hours to prevent their burning.
- 5 preheat grill.
- 6 drain shrimp, reserving marinade.
- 7 thread shrimp on skewers.
- 8 grill just until shrimp turn pink, basting with marinade.
- 9 serve immediately.
